Do Sauce Shop sauces contain seed oils?Updated a month ago

Some Sauce Shop products use rapeseed oil in the recipe. There's a lot of misinformation and scare tactics online (especially on social media) surrounding seed oils.

It's been a debate that's been around for decades but is only now really coming to the fore. We've been keeping an eye on it, and are following science over opinion.

If you're keen to learn more about seed oils or disagree with our point of view, we would point you in the direction of this article by ZOE, reviewed by Sarah Berry, Professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at King's College London. The ZOE article debunks the omega-6/inflammation myth and also covers the issue of trans fats and more. Overall, the article suggests there are no issues with the normal consumption of seed oils and references many scientific reviews throughout.

We would never put something in our products that was scientifically proven to be harmful.

If you're browsing our website and working out which sauces contain rapeseed oil, you can find the ingredients for a sauce by going to the product page of the item you're interested in and scrolling down to the 'Ingredients & Nutrition' tab.

We're not trying to force you to consume seed oils. If you choose not to consume seed oil as a dietary choice, then that's all good with us. If you like Sauce Shop sauces but want to cut down your consumption of these oils, we have a seed oil-free range which you should take a look at.
